3 year old, a little on the shy side (at least with me) - Murfreesboro Children’s Photographer
I see this little man once a year and last year I remember him being very shy, although we got some amazing pictures! This year, he was still a little shy but did warm up a little and I love these pictures even more than last years pictures!
Love this one because you can see that timid smile!

Gorgeous Families
My fall mini sessions were a success! I am happy to announce that I have earned enough money to pay for at least one smile for a child for the Operation Smile charity event. I will have a total soon! There is still time to order a Smile collage, but only a few more days! The offer expires on October 31st.
So here are some pictures of the Gorgeous Families that came to get their fall family portraits done. Although we did not have very much fall color, we did have some great locations to work with regardless.
Enjoy!
3 Beautiful Generations -Mufreesboro Portrait Session

I was happy photograph this family again while Ruth (Grandma) was in TN from France. I got to meet Ruth when I did little Maddie’s newborn photos, since then I have just been shipping pictures over to France. She called to let me know when she would be in town again and wanted 3 generation photos done.
They are simply gorgeous! We got so many great photos, I am only sharing a few here.
Savannah becomes a big sister - Brentwood Newborn Session
I have photographed this little gal since she was 6 weeks old and here she is a big sister! I can’t tell you what a treat it was to actually do some of these newborn photos outside. So here are the adorable brother and sister, and let me tell you baby G looks just like his big sister did at that age. I had trouble narrowing down this sneak peek, so there are more than my standard blog post.
October is Family Portrait Month to benefit Operation Smile (Family Portraits Middle Tennessee)
October is a perfect time of year to get family portraits. The weather is cooler and we often have some fall color! It is also Family Portrait Month, and KAP has joined with the PPA Charites(Professional Photographers of America) to raise money for Operation Smile.
“Operation Smile is a worldwide children’s medical charity dedicated to helping children and young adults born with facial deformities. Since 1982, more than 115,000 children and young adults have been treated by thousands of volunteers worldwide and thousands of healthcare professionals have been trained globally. For as little as $240 Operation Smile can change a child’s life by giving the gift of a surgery. Revenue in excess of surgical costs is invested into our sustainability programs, empowering our partner countries to treat more children on their own and making your investment go even farther. In as little as 45 minutes, one cleft lip surgery can change a child’s life forever.”
KAP will be donating a portion of your family portrait session fee in October to Operation Smile as well as a percentage of sales from that order.
Check out this video and see how you can help by booking your family portrait session in October with KAP.
One HOT August Day, One shy two year old, and One Copperhead Snake - Murfreesboro Portrait Session
My first August session, and it was HOT!! I often suggest for this age we go outside for a session, since it is so difficult for them in a studio setting. I take that back, this probably applies to every month except August, LOL! We even scheduled it early to beat the heat, Ha! It has been about a year since I last photographer Alex, he was a shy boy for this session. We have a whole lot of serious shots! We ventured to the creek, that often will break a kid out of their shell! Then we saw the biggest snake I have ever seen in the wild. Jon said it looked like a Copperhead, so I googled it and sure enough it was a Copperhead! I actually had them all sitting at that very spot about 30 minutes before we saw the snake. Smack… that is the sound of me slapping myself on the forehead…. why didn’t I take a picture of that snake???
Traditional and Non-traditional
The R Family came in for the kids portraits. First let me post one that I love. It is a little Non-traditional, but I think it is perfect because it shows the smallest one’s personality (on the go).
Then for the traditional. I got these new props and was excited to try them, so was the Mommy of this little one. The baby HATED the hat, but we got a few profile shots. I think this would look lovely hanging in a bathroom. I also gave it a little vitage touch color, I think it is fitting of this image.
